Rants From A Starving Artist

     There are certain rules you have to follow!  If you fudge or change the formula---things can happen!!!!

Lyle W. skiing the powder at ALTA, UTAH in the 60's----     At night, we had super 8 movies, talk, messing around with girls(4 guys for every gal) so mostly we had beer, and strong drink!

For years I have worked at putting on a front of being a grumpy Dude!     Even the house plants laugh at my yelling and calling them names --- they know I am an Old Softy!   RATS----can't a person have some fun  ---my house is so small it is like going to a cheap hotel, where you have to lift the fold down bed back into the wall, so you can open the door to get in the bathroom-------the plants laugh and grow and grow like they plan to get over THE WORLD!

   Here is Me in a few short years, when I run of money--if I don't make the Big Time Artist gig! ( I hope they let me dye my hair so I at least look good)---I need to start a Kick Start deal for a relief printing press for a studio----I don't think you can print money on this type of Press!     Any ideas will Help!

Her paper name was Julianna Andropolis, her mother was Julianna Sparkler and her father was Winston Churchill the 24th. She was Royalty, and a real BUDDY---no matter what I happened. Miss you old friend!

Pictured below are indeed, """Tools of the Devil"""   Every time, I 'm heading out for a bike ride, or to have a wonderful time,  these two little S.O.B's try to grab me by the the throat, to drag me, out in the yard to do my yard jobs-----Man, when in the Hell can't it Snow or rain constantly for days, and days!!!  If this photo is Blurred, you know who did It.

The skin is about as smooth as mine---- Nose is about the same as mine,  - maybe I"ll a HAIR CUT! Cheers!

When to the Bank to bor row money for an Etching Relief Press, for my Studio, and guess what?    My old ex- RICH girl friend who suggested I below their class income level or a "Slacker, or Near-do W"ell----The Banker agreed, and wouldn't lend any Money!!!----so the funny Part is I am a "STARVING ARTIST"  AND when I got home, I wound I had put the FRESH CELERY in the Freezer.  So when I what get ready to cook DINNER!!!!  

  In College in the 60's I fell head over heels for a Girl, I thought would be some one perfect to Marry, usually, the thought made me----run like Hell.   She was a really nice girl, who didn't play games, was honest, nice people to be along, and who I thought of me as the Cat's Meow, as I did think of her! (yes and having money also helped)  Her Mother thought differently----That I was just a "Slacker and a Near-do Well", not for her daughter.   I'm a member of the local city Trail Committee----I was made the head of the Slackers and near-do Well Trail User Group, ex facto!!!!!!!!

With watering restrictions, most of the WEEDS, are all that is left------In a week over two, or maybe three-------I'll get out the fertilizer, & give the weeds a good taste, ---Then I'll have the greenest yard on the block-----Need to paint the front steps, but to Hell with-----the trail is calling---off for a hike,  but wait, let's make that a walk.........

                     HELP! HELP1 ---------HELP!!!!!!!! -----------------------The WEEDS are Winning, but with a little fertilizer,                                         I'll have the GREENIST lawn(weeds)!

Meet Oliver Thompson the 1st.  In grade school he would beat you silly, for your Lunch Money.    In the Fourth Grade, he had to shave twice a day.    In Six Grade he bought Beer for the High School kids. P.S. He is a member of the Thompson Clan in the Red Rock country of Southern Utah.    (man he was mean!)    We have not had any rain,for a while, plus my water pipe broke, and the water people took two weeks to fix the pipe.    In the mean time, the grass is damn near dead, but the weeds in the lawn area are still green, so in a couple of weeks--I'll fertilize them, and I'll have the greenest lawn area on the Block.    Also the wind was blowing the other morning, so I opened the Seed Packs and throw the seeds into the wind.   So now, with the live weeds instead of grass, and the seed sown - I closed the door, and sat down, and had a cool one.    Amen Summer    Bring on the snow.  Some of us are going up to the local Ski Area, and dance the night away, and pray for SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!    

  In High School, my Chemistry Teacher, Won " Honorable Mention" the the Teacher's Golf Tournament. In auto mechanics class we made a trophy for Mr. Osborn, out of a tin can we took off the paper label.  Then we made a golf figure out of wire, and engraved the can as follows--                          HIGHLAND HIGH TEACHERS GOLF TOURNAMENT                                                  HONORABLE MENTION                                                     Thomas "Arnie" Osborn The next day, I stopped class and presented the trophy to "Arnie"  He was so excited he canceled our Final Exam.  How's that?
